A love that was lost.
December 28, 2006A girl asked her then boyfriend,
G: Who do you the really love the most in this world?
B: You.
G: In your heart, who am I to you?
B: (the boy thought hard and then looked intently at the girl and spoke softly) " You are my rib. in the bible it was said that God saw that Adam was lonely, and that during his sleep, God took one of Adam's rib and created Eve. She was the answer to Adam's loneliness. And ever since man has been searching for his missing rib; and only when you find the woman of your life will the lingering ache in your heart be gone."
After 2 years the boy and the girl got married. They shared a sweet and wonderful beggining as a married couple. However, the reality of life gnawed its way into their lives, their dreams, hopes and love. They began to drift apart because of their busy schedules and the never ending worries of daily problems. It was as if the world was against the 2 lovers.
The couple began to have more quarrels, and as each quarrels pass, it grows more heated.
One day, after a heated quarrel, the girl ran out of their house and at the other side of the street, she shouted at the boy, " You don't love me!"
The boy, tired from the quarrels, and her childishness and the daily tirades; impulsively retorted. "Maybe, it was a mistake for us to be together! You were never my missing rib!"
Suddenly, she turned quiet and just stood there for a long while. The boy regretted what he said but spoken words are like thrown water, you can never take it back. With hot tears running down her eyes she ran inside the house, took out her suitcases and started packing her stuffs inside. She was determined to leave the boy.
He stood outside the house as she was leaving, remembering the words she said when he tried to stop her; "If I'm really not your missing rib, please let me go. It is less painful this way, let us go our separate ways and search for our own partners and happiness."
Five years went by..
He never remarried but he tried to find out about her life indirectly. She has left the country and married a foreigner but got divorced. He felt anguished that she never waited for him.
In the dark and lonely night, he lit his cigarette and felt the lingering ache in his heart. He couldn't bring himself to admit that he missed the girl.
One day, they finally met… at the airport, a place where there were many reunions and goodbyes. he was going away on a business trip. She was on her way to visit a friend. She smiled at him gently.
B: How are you?
G: I'm fine. How about you? Have you found your missing rib?
B: No.
G: I'll be flying to New York in the next flight.
B:I'll be back in two weeks time. Give me a call when you are back. You know my number, nothing has changed.
With a smile, she turned around and waved goodbye at the boy.
A week passed by when he learned of her death. She had perished in New York, in the event that shocked the world.
Midnight
Once again , he lit his cigarette.. and like before, he felt the lingering ache in his heart. He finally knew, she was the missing rib that he has carelessly broken.

Sometimes, we say things out of moments of fury. Most often that not, it is our loved ones that we vent out our frustrations 90% of the time. Let us remember the adage "Men stumble at pebbles, never at mountains."
Love and peace to all.
E.K Madness.
December 27, 2006With all the hoola baloo with me not getting gifts and stuff (I'm well over that fact now, since I counted my blessings this year) I forgot to post the really great time that I had at Enchanted Kingdom last saturday with my best boy bud Anthony and his girlfriend Sara who is my bestfriend and my 3 little sisters.
We didn't have any concrete plans regarding the outing and it was like a spur of the moment thing. I mean, we discussed it yes, but it was a toss up between Star City (least expensive) and E.K. (major expensive) depending on the resources. To the last minute I decided that we should go to E.K., it's like a once in a blue moon experience, after all ang layo nang lugar and wala lang.. gut feeling lang talaga na it really has to be E.K. So last saturday, December 23, pocket money withstanding natuloy kami sa wonderful world of Enchanted Kingdom.
At first kinakabahan kami, kasi we're not sure kung saan sasakay, kung enough ba yung cash and so on and so forth. ) Anyway, the roundtrip fare that weekend was only P250 that's round trip na, and may promo pa sila, if you avail of the roundtrip and the ride all you can tag there (sa kanila) there's a discount of P50. So that means you'll only be paying P800. O' di ba nice?
Good thing we went to Sta. Rosa nang before lunch, mehjo di namin nakasabay yung mga uuwi na sa province kaya maluwag ang traffic, it only took us less than 2 hours to go there thru South Super Highway. At syempre before kami bumili nang ticket, kailangan magkaroon muna nang photo-ops.
Then off to the rides we go. The game plan was all the rides that will make us wet will be last! We first rode the Roller Skates (it's like a miniature Roller Coaster) that really made our excitement level go wild. Hehe, tapos my sisters rode the Up, Up and Away. Then we rode the Wheel of Fate. Then we went to Rialto (better be early I remembered that it used to be 1 of the best sellers before) and was a bit bitin with the story that they used, pero what the heck saya pa rin niya. We ate some late lunch in front of the Rio Grande Rapids and we noticed that people were really drenched YET keeps on lining up for the rides.
Since we were still a bit full with what we ate, naisipan namin i try yung mga paid attraction (Paintball fight, 4D theater, Exodus rides and yung Go-Kart) eh since ayaw naman namin mag exodus at Go-Kart(mahal eh:) ) naisip namin na mag 4D, @ P40 each. Ok naman yung theater, the effects that were included with the attraction added the special factor that made it memorable. The film that was used was Escape from Bane Mansion. Horrific!!
Then we went to the Space Shuttle, I dunno why we even did it, takot ako sa heights at ang kasama ko ay maliliit na bata.
Classic talaga!
Tapos to relax ourselves, naisip namin na mag Swan Lake, kaso mukhang mali ata yung match-ups namin kasi ang naging magkasama is syempre kami ni Inah. Me and a 12 y/o kid paddling our way. Wahaha. Luckily or mercifully, we decided to cut it short since hirap na kaming dalawa. We then went for Jungle Log Jam. Buti na lang maikli ang line kaya nakasakay agad kami, and wow, ang saya, even if the water seemed dirty and we closed our eyes during the rides, so we didn't take the pictures that were nade (hello, fanget namin doon!!)
We took a short break, and then watched the Tahitian Show. Sabi nang kapatid ko 2 daw doon sa pretty girls "bading" and I'm like, ndi nga? Kasi, the guys who were watching was really slaving all over the girls.
1 of the guys: Hala sino kukuha sa atin eh lahat tayo andito?
Di ba pretty siya?
Parang naligaw lang mga kapatid ko
After watching the lively event we decided to take the plunge at the Rio Grande Rapids. Weeeehhhh! Even if we got totally drenched (Bea: "Kulang na lang sabon!" Inah: Ndi ako nabasa, nagshower lang ako na may damit") we made sure to line up again for a second ride.
We bought the pictures that E.K took, (hehehe, sa sobrang excitement, lagi kaming nakapose that the guy who was manning the booth had to laugh and say "Yes, Ma'am/ Sir, don't worry maganda na po ang kuha nyo po ) even if we found it to be a bit higher that the usual picture charges.
Then we changed clothes, ate some dinner and deciced which rides shall we take before the fireworks display. We decided to go with Up, Up and Away, then the Flying Fiesta and Wheel of Fate (thinking that it's romantic to watch fireworks on top of the ferris wheel kaya lang mas mautak E.K. mga 5 minutes they announced na all rides will be stopped to make way for the fireworks display.)
The fireworks display was great, it lasted like 15-20 minutes, the only thing that dampened the event was rain. (pun intended) After that, we lined up again for the Rialto and then went to hang out at the Soda Shop. We bought some mementos from the gift shop and then went out to wait for the shuttle back home.
I must say that the whole event really made us so tired that by the time that we got home we were so sleepy, we almost crawled to bed.
But all in all, I'd say it was worth it and I had a blast!
The after Christmas spirit.
December 26, 2006I wanna clear up the air over what I said with my last post, yes I'm sad that I barely received any gifts but, the joy to have the people that I cared about enjoy the gifts that I gave them, also fills up my heart. It was wrong for me to expect something in return since madami naman silang pangangailangan din. Some of them have families to feed, eh ako, wala naman me iniisip kung hindi ako lang. So, let it be na lang. Except of course yung sa Kris Kringle.
that expected ko na may makuha ako..
I'll be watching the MMFF movies this comming weekend, expect a review here of the movies, (man, I'm so excited.. gusto ko makita ang SRR 8 and Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo) lets stop the piracy of Pinoy Movies, ika nga nila tangkilikin ang sariling atin.
My Kris-Kringle Poot
December 25, 2006I love to give gifts, but I also love to receive gifts. It's the feeling that makes X'mas special for me. Di ba, yung pakiramdam na wow, may nakaalala sa akin. Even if the gift is simple, like a handmade sculpture, or a book, kahit nga pen eh! The thought counts more than the physical gift. Pero, this is what makes me frustrated, I gave out gifts to all my office mates. Including the required gifts for Kris Kringle, and so far I could count sa isang kamay ko kung sino nagbigay nang regalo sa akin.
Ang sad noh? Wala man lang naging "thankful" sa friendship namin. (I called the gifts that I gave kasi as friendship gifts) Anyway, enough of the poot, at least I've learned something today. Syet!
Anyway, Merry Christmas sa lahat! Enjoy the holidays.
My "experience" @ the Jungles of Glorietta
December 24, 2006I love going to Malls, and no, food is not exactly my passion nor is bags or accessories but good books/reading stuffs. So, most of the time when I go to SM or Greenhills I usually drop by, Fully Booked or National Bookstore to browse if there is any good books that will be worth my time. Anyway, back to my story, last friday, my mom asked me to go to with her to Prudentialife to make a series of complaints about the misinformation that they gave us, the way it came out para na din silang CAP. As in. Tapos ang crappy pa sobra nang kanilang Customer Service, I don't think yung Customer Service nila was made to make sure that they satisfy the customer, I think ginawa nila yun para palayasin sa inis yung customer. Bwisit kayo Prudentialife!!! (Sorry sa mga tinamaan!)
So anyway, nagpunta nga kami ni Mommy sa Makati. Now, the city of Mr. Binay is certainly not my haunt; the one way streets, the big buildings that are eerily looking like the same makes me not want to wander there. But since this is Mommy that we are talking about na nagpapasama and syempre kahit ayaw ko sumama eh go pa rin ako. So, there we were riding the MRT syempre we exploited the fact that we were ladies and went with the first railcar as if that made a difference since pagdating sa Cubao station eh, bulaga! I expected to see the same costume (the wings and all) but they were wearing baseball costumes (yung parang sa Angels in the outfield etc.) Still, I'm not bothered with that, what I didn't like is the bathroom, bakit naman Unisex ang banyo? What if a man and a woman needs to go at the same time? Duh!
So, after the uneventful day at Prudentialife crap, my Mommy and I with my sister Kathleen went to Glorietta to find gifts and Kathleen's outfit for her X'mas party which has a theme called "Rock and Glam". Grabe, ang dami nang tao sa Glorietta (parang nagpapanic buying) not to mention na parang ang mahal nang lahat nang gamit doon.
Nakita ko din pala si Sen. Loi.
After like 3-4 hours of foraging (searching pala) for the perfect outfit and looking for good gifts and buying watches for us.. (yehey) We decided to call it a day and go home. Unfortunately, walang sasakyan. I felt like one of Noah's animal waiting for the Ark that would save me, in this case it's a taxi cab that would take me back to Quezon City without jacking up the price for us.
I spent like more than 2 hours on the line when I got shocked (nabigla) at the sound of firecrackers. Firecrackers in Ayala?
Yep! Ayala and I think and another company was the sponsors of that night's fireworks display which lasted at least 15 mins, and totally made the people forget that : ndi pa kami nakakasakay, ubos na bonuses namin, pagod na kami, traffic and several different problems. I also have to give a big thumbs up to the Makati Traffic cops for ensuring that taxi's wouldn't refuse the destination of the passengers.
Nice.
Choco-Crazy
December 21, 2006I'm addicted to chocolates, may it be donuts, breads, cakes, ic cream, brownies or drinks. I love ordering chocolate shakes at any resto/food house which has them (like Heaven and Eggs and Shakey's) and one of my favorite drinks @ Starbucks besides their caramel machiatto is their Hot Choco with Extra Whip Cream.
Delightfully sinful.
Speaking of ice cream, have you checked out the new Magnolia House? It's across the old Magnolia House which is at Aurora Blvd. They still have the to die for banana spilt which is at P148. Ehehe, mehjo mahal na siya compared to the early 90's price which was around P70-P90. I ate there with my mommy and my sister a few weeks back and until now, I'm so hooked that I insisted on bringing Sugar back there to eat, even if he was grumpy all the way (he felt it was too malayo) and that their food (they serve meals now) is not that great not to mention expensive (in my own opinion lang naman). But I still love their ice cream, and I'll always visit them as long as time (and resources) permits. Hay, anyway, going back to my ice cream house experience, I ordered the original banana split, my mom ordered peach melba and my sister ordered black and white (choco ice cream, vanilla ice cream and lots of whip cream and choco syrup) each at P148. Wow, tsalap!
They also have their signature parfaits available and their sundaes.. hay, kakagutom. Right now, while I'm at work since I have a loser lunch (hello? 2 a.m???) I'm eating Toblerone and downing it with C2 Green Tea Apple Flavor; I was eating Cheez-it earlier kaso naumay ako..and it kept on staining my fingers, hence it made a mess on my keyboard. (yucky)
There's this resto called Guava (I read it in last Sunday's Inquirer Magazine by Margauex Salcedo) that serves bagoong with chocolates, I wonder how it tastes? I couldn't even fanthom the thought of bagoong with chocolates, pero malay naman natin.

I'm so excited to go to Enchanted Kingdom this Saturday with my friends and my little sisters
Resto Yummy..
December 19, 2006Me and my friends ate at Burgoo last saturday and wow, ang sarap.. Sobra, I thought Burgoo would be expensive (well, it looked that way), mga katulad nang CPK. Di naman pala, and fact of the matter is, mas nagenjoy ako sa Burgoo, perhaps its the service of the friendly staff or the novelty idea of paper tablecloths that you could use for drawing or writing (you're given a set of crayons per table). You should try their Fettucine Carbonara, which is around P150 which to them is the regular serving but could be shared by 2 people. I also ordered the Chicken Tenders, Supreme Pizza and Calamares, and the bill just came around P1100. Which is very good compared to the bill that we had when we ate at CPK, which was aroung P1300 for only pizza and half an order of pasta.
Another yummy resto is Heaven and Eggs. I usually eat there with friends and of course with Sugar and they never fail to satisfy me. They've only disappointed me once, when I ordered the Michael Owen's Potato Cheese Balls, and since the regular chef was sick, the cheese was a bit cold, but the outside was totally cooked. They also have foods that are named in a very unique way like, Dear Bacon, Love Eggs; 3 Sausages etc. Plus their Iced tea is the best plus for P65 its refillable with all the syrup that you could use. Hehehe.
Don't forget to try out Flavors of China also, which has totally big servings which totally tastes good, and the great thing about it is the price. It's so budget friendly, an order of yang-chow fried rice which is around P90 (ata) is good for 2-3 people, and madami siyang sahog, not unlike the yang chow kuno fried rice nang ibang resto. They also have good dimsums and noodles. The noodles tastes like the noodles that Maxim's serve.
Masarap din sa Maxim's. I tried them out at their greenhills branch and it was good. A bit stuffy though but it's best for family lunches or dinners.
Floring's which for me has the best barbecue (may poot ako sa Aristocrats) and pancit is still tops for me when it comes for comfort food. It's cheap (but delicious) and never fails to leave you wanting for more.
Another comfort food for me, and it never fails to cheer me up is instant pancit canton (LUCKY ME Chili-Mansi Please) and fried eggs (sunny side-up) and a bottle of coke, pardon me while I burp.
Christmas Shopping 101
December 8, 2006I was supposed to post a best of pinoy resto's but I decided to post a Shopping Guide instead first, I know that next week is a payday and I'm sure that most people will rush around the metro buying last-minute gifts. Kaya magpapakashopping guru muna ako and I'll help you finish your giftlist..
Uniqueness.
I love giving 1 of a kind gifts the personalized just for you type except its time and patience consumming. So I usually love those homemade stuffs that people with creative hands create. Number one is the friend of my teammate; she makes wonderful beaded earrings, necklaces, and bracelets whose price ranges depends on the style and the beads that she uses, I'll be posting the pics tomorrow evening I promise. Her brand name again is DEUSCH.
There's a nice toy gallery @ the Marikina Shoe Expo which is in Cubao; it's the Chunky Far Flung Toystore. (Ugh, my bad I'm not sure if my memory serves me right. ) But I do remember seeing toys from yesteryears, like Smurf Stuff toys which goes for P200.00. G.I Joes, Hello Kitty toys, Ultraman toys (remember him?), Gashopon toys and lots of pins with Anime Characters on it. Meron din silang mga dolls and tanks and, basta madami, kaso ndi sila ganoon kacheap, pero as I've said old toys na sila. It's great if you're a collector.
There was also 2 great bookstores there that I visited, Heritage and Datelines (haha!! naalala ko na at naalala ko din na iupdate ito!! 1/28) Heritage sells great antique books and records; nakita ko pa nga yung LP nang bandang ASIN and the JUAN DELA CRUZ BAND. Unfortunately it's not for lowly peons like me.. (hahaha) But, you might like to visit it to check out the goods. Now the bookstore that I totally forgot at first but then remembered is called Datelines it sells UP PRESS released books, and its supposed to be owned by BERNADETTE SEMBRANO (PART OWNER) it has this totally great book list and its budget friendly. It also has bags and kitchy shirts problem is, wala silans sizes masyado, sayang.
For those who loves to swim but are scared of buying swimwears because of.. unknown reasons here's great place to get swimming suits tailor made for your size and the design that is comfortable for you: Pink Belter which has a stall in Greenhills and a shop in St Thomas Square Morayta, Manila. It's easy in the pockets, but the quality could rival expensive brands like Nothing but H20. (GUARANTEED)
Of course, you could always try scourging Divisoria : 168 for china made stuff at dirt prices, Gift Shop (Binondo) which has great Swarovski Crystals and other gift charms and lucky trinkets and you should also try checking Ylaya St. as well. Madami pang magandang stores na pedeng puntahan pero word of warning ingat sa mandurukot, at always wear comfortable shoes and clothes because milya-milya ang kailangan mong lakarin to get the best offers. And don't forget to make tawad.
You could also check out Greenhills. I'm sure there are lots of things that you could get there among the latest finds that I got there was: Jade bracelets for P50 each, My nintendo DS for P6500 (wayyy cheaper than the market price by the way), HDY thong slippers for P500 (not exactly a bargain, but my feet loves it so much) so many other stuffs. Plus they have Best Toys and Great Toys, which has a great collection of toys anime wise and main stream wise. And you should also check Hobby Point, which is @ the third(or 4th ba?) level of Shoppesville where you could find anime dvds like: Kyoh Kara Maoh, Bleach and others, plus Magic: The Gathering cards, and other figurines as well.
And then there's SM, the ever trusty mall where you could find most of the things that you need. If I were to choose between SM North Edsa and Megamall; I'll choose North Edsa anytime.
Then there's 50th Avenue which is in Robinson's Galleria, which also houses those unique kiosks, things that I've found there over time are: Lae swimwears, girlshop(pe), for accessories and a kiosks that caters to goth and goth wannabe.
And since I mentioned Galleria, check out their stores as well, may mga stores sila na magaganda at syempre, don't forget to drop by toys'r'us.
And last but not the least DEBENHAMS, I found toys for all ages there. Like a miniature locker, a stress gauge, a mini-volcano kits and lots more (expect to spend though as it doesn't come cheap)
Hope this helps!
Yowza it’s 20 days before Christmas na!
December 5, 2006O come all ye carolers, Joyful and otherwise, O come ye O come ye, to my house tonight (make that friday!)
Hehe. Which kindda makes me sad, since nasanay na ako na tuwing pasko may nangangaroling. Lalo na since may tindahan kami. If they only knew na mag pagka kuripot ang mga bantay.
Tapos na ba kayo sa mga X'mas list nyo? Ako, well, halfway done na, I still want to go to 168 in Divi to check what things I could add sa mga reregaluhan ko.. Mag pluplug na pala ako.. I have a team mate who has a friend who creates this one of a kind jewellry with beads and wires and stuffs,, ONE OF A KIND TALAGA. Unless you specify na you'd like copies to be made. The brand is called deusch, the phone number is 09178048294 and the email add of the wonderful creator is dedes_0122@yahoo.com. It's great for those sisters, girlfriend/s, tita's, mommy gifts.
Argh, back to work muna ako.. till next!
