Post MMFF
January 12, 2007I've watched several movies which was featured at the previous MMFF, and lest I have my blog pelleted by rotten tomatoes let me reiterate that THIS IS MY OPINION. I am not a critic. I merely watched the films out of curiosity. Now let's go back to regular programming.
1. Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo.- Judy Ann Santos (Best Actress) and if I ain't mistaken they won the Gatpuno Villegas award and an award for gender sensitivity. I've watched this last 12/29 with my team mates. Sa may Gateway Cinema paid P120 ata (can't remember) and let me just admit to the whole blog-world that this movie rocks! It unleased a Judy Ann Fan in each and everyone inside that cinema. We were laughing and enjoying the movie the whole time. Even if the story was as some critics say is cliched and overworked.
Classic lines/scenes are:
Gloria Diaz asking her son: What's patotay? (Hell, even I don't what that meant before I watched the movie!)
Judy Ann: Bakit nakaamoy ka na ba nang mabangong utot? (Oo nga naman!)
Judy Ann: Sige halika (lies down on bed) ipractice natin yang human rights mo, halika na!
;) Classic!
** Post reaction: Rewatched it again (1/27/2007) @ the comforts of my house and still, it didn't fail to make me laugh.. the scene of Judy Ann with Juliana Palermo.. Woohoo.. I wish I'd have guts to do that if ever that'll happen to me.. (cross fingers that it doesn't) Even if the formula was simple boy meets girl, they fall in love, two of them against the world and all the effects.. it really worked. The chemistry between the two, was so great that it was like wow. Ang saya and it makes it all worth it. The movie by the way was the season's topgrosser.. Beat that EK3.
2. Shake, Rattle and Roll 8- Every year, I found myself always lining up in front of cinemas and watching Shake, Rattle and Roll. As in napanood ko na lahat, even the crappy one where they had the "Smile mo kita ko guy" and Ms. Ai-ai. Let me just say that this I really enjoyed to the hilt. The fact na isang row lang kami (Beerkadets) sa Edsa Shang and it was the last full show, made it even creepier. Oops, may 2 tao pala sa likod namin, and we were kidding that those 2 are assassins, and that they were hired to kill those who are too noisy, too rowdy and people who have their cellphones on.
I loved the LRT episode. Even if the scene between Manilyn and Keempee sucks hehehe I mean a drama scene just when you're about to be eaten by a wild animal like creature. And wow, who ever casted the guy who just kept on saying "Sorry babe" all through out the movie must be given a pat on the back. Please include a sign that states kick me in the ass.
3. Zsa-Zsa Zaturnnah - No, I didn't watch the musical, no I didn't review the book before I watched this. And Yes, I had fun laughing. I don't care what you say, I liked this gay musical(Sugar's words not mine) even if people found it disappointing and not at all different from the theater adaptation. For people who will watch it the first time ever, I assure you, it's fun. Lalo na yung scene ni Pops Vs. Zsazsa.
reminds you of old Jap live shows. And Alfred Vargas, you're uh.. HOT. :p la lang there I can breath now.
4. Super Noypi- I like Quark Henares (again this is my opinion not yours don't pelt me with rotten fruits) and well, this movie didn't disappoint me but it didn't exactly made me jump for joy nor sing praises for it. It was ok, the problem was there was so many actors in the movie but not enough exposure. And.. why is sandara there? I don't like her acting, I find it a bit shallow.
5. Matakot ka sa Karma - Gretchen B. was .. Ok.
Ana Capri is still good and I like Angelica P. they're both hot. 'nuf said
