An entry for every movie addict
May 8, 2008I find well made movies addictive.
At first you find yourself curious, you’re thinking if it’s worth it and if you’re even up to it. Once inside the theater you find yourself in anticipation at each and every character’s every move. You might find yourself being scared at each crack and screech or perhaps in tears as the guy says goodbye to the girl for the nth time. Perhaps you might be enjoying a laughing trip at every funny scene or maybe an adrenaline rush is what’s pulsating at your every vein as the hero rushes to glory. And once the credits role you find the euphoria that you’ve felt just a few minutes ago, ‘bitin.
You have the craving for more movies, more action flicks, more drama, more comedy. And you try to satisfy that craving by watching more and more movies, but it cost a lot of money plus you sometimes get disappointed with some of the flicks. You go online in search of new movies, you check forums, bitorrents and such. And being a noob that you are, you sometimes accidentally land in sites for porn and you don’t want that, your PC being virgin and all.
So you resort to the black market, you go dibidi hunting in Quiapo, in Divisoria, in Circle C. You look out for the guys who whisper in your ears "dibidi bicidi ma’am sir?" in greenhills and willingly follow them to their coveted stash of movies. And you succumb to their evil actions, giving out money for your addiction. You go home all excited, and watch at every disk that you have until the next day when you find yourself wasted and old. (and in serious need of sleep and perhaps a shower)
And then you check your wallet and discover a serious dent in it, that you realize you need help.
Hi, I’m twistedkai and I’m a movie addict.
A twisted view of a Satuday event
April 29, 2008- iblog4 at UP Malcom Center.
-

- Didn’t get there on time. {I was contemplating if I’m going to attend, but I already gave my word…}
-

- Didn’t go inside at first {I don’t know anybody there. I was like so shy!!!!}
- Sat at two talks that I barely understood. (Sorry.)
- Saw SexyMom first (I didn’t have the guts to introduce myself) And I saw a couple of bloggers who looked familiar (syempre, I "stalked" their blogs.. hehehe)
- Finally met SexyNomad and Mr. Mordo (Yay!) And I also met other people as well. Like Liz (she was so pretty..), Ade, Bim (who was giving out this cute cards)and Fritz.
- Went to the isawan outside Malcolm. (Still kept to myself. Hehehe. Still shy.) Bonded with the Gypsy Princess. Met Louis and Jonel and talked with Ade. I got to share a little OR "legend".
- Went to the afterparty by 88db.com at Katips. Got to meet Tom and his pretty wife. Took pictures with Ms. Jen and Mr. Peter. (I didn’t stay long, because I got bored and sleepy not to mention hungry at the same time plus the headache. I was better off going home because from what I heard este read, there really wasn’t much food served.) (next time I’ll mingle a little bit more.)
- The end.
Duty days: OR
April 25, 2008Yesterday (April 24) was our first rotation for this summer. We were quite surprised to find out during the first day of classes that the first rotation is the OR section of Mandaluyong City Medical Center. Not that we didn’t appreciate it and all, after all OR is still OR and we still have to finish 5 Major and Minor cases before we could attend our clinical graduation. Anyway, our duty starts at 2 PM and ends at 10 PM. And although we felth that the time that we got was super boring, it was still way better than the time we had 10 PM - 6AM duty at RMC.
In accordance to what happened at VSMMC, posted in every area of the hospital, are warnings that camphones, cameras, videocameras are not allowed in the OR premises. This warning was already being practiced in RMC way before the VSMMC because of an incident that was even featured by one of the Tulfo Brothers.

One heat stroke post.
April 18, 2008Don’t you hate this extreme heat? I mean the heat is slowly frying my brains. Gah! Rain!! I need rain..
I’m bored. Can anyone help me get PostSecrets books and Mad Comic Compilations? I just can’t help it, I tried finding it at Powerbooks Trinoma, and Fully Booked Sm North Edsa but they don’t have any of the books that I’m looking for. Waah.
I choose reading over everything else because I don’t have cable TV. Yeah, yeah it sucks I know, but we do have an impressive collection of anime. and other series as well. (no, I don’t have porn) But it gets boring watching the same things over and over again. And I’m starting to get sick of Lobo, Joaquin Bordado, Kung Fu kids and even Kris Aquino’s Wheel of Fortune with matching hand gestures. I mean what’s up with the creepy gesture????
And lately I’ve been fascinated with how commercials are made. Some downright creepy like the Nestle ad. And to think, I can’t name for the life of me anything else besides Nestle cream for a cream brand available locally in the market. The Nestea Ice tea commercial is cool and funny at the same time. Shampoo commercials are often hit and miss; like KC’s commercial where she said the infamous quip "My mom always told me.." and Rain’s commercial for Clear, "the world watches my every move.., black looks good.., my name is Rain." And head and shoulders, what’s up with your commercial with Mariel and Zanjoe? It was like UGH!!!!
Ok, me stop now.
OMG, What have I been doing????
April 17, 2008I have been remiss on my promise to post regularly again. Sigh. And to think I wasn’t even busy.
Hay.
I swear this summer I’ll really start to post on a semi regular basis. I can’t believe March went by me and I updated nothing at all. But I should have updated!!
I should have written that even if I was sort of not good in Research, and that my Professor was from the Jurassic period, I still got a 2.5 (YAY) and that I got a super good grade in Medical Surgery.
I should have written about my "fans" in Fort Bonifacio General Hospital, and how hard it was to commute from Quezon City to Taguig at 5:00 a.m every day for almost 2 weeks.
I should have posted that Mckinnley Hills Mcdonald’s serves the best fries and is a good tambayan place.
I should have bloggged about my search for the perfect dress, and how my Mom bought me 3 dresses. (thanks ‘My)
I should have posted my Visita Iglesia annual date including the pictures.
I should have uploaded our countless pictures (but I did!! They’re in my multiply site!^_^)
I should have written my thoughts about what happened during our thesis proposal.
And oh so many things. But all of them were for the month of March.
Bah. And it’s already April. FEH!
Jealous and sweet
February 29, 2008Could one feel 2 emotions all at the same time? Could I be mad yet feel okay about it all at the same time?
I’m not sure if its possible but I love him and I know he loves me so very much. It’s just that even if I trust him it doesn’t mean I have to trust the people around him. Right? Crappola. I can’t help it really, it’s my nature to be jealous, especially if the person is getting too near for comfort. Freaky bitch.
Anyway, here’s the pic of the cake that I won last Feb 14.
Hobby
February 22, 2008I’m starting to love taking pictures seriously. Most of the time, I find myself tinkering with the shutters of my camera, looking at new cameras online {I’d love to try my hand at lomography, I hope my order arrives asap.} and just taking pictures. Most of the time, my friends benefit from my fascination with pictures as they say I take good ones [cough cough]
Anyway, I could always turn my fascination into a real hobby. Unlike when I was young when I started to collect stamps. Ugh, what a terrible disaster. Anyway, please do check the pictures that I’ve taken so far it’s at my multiply page.
Below is a picture of my closest friend, I took that using a 2MP cam phone, Panorama setting, Grayscaled.
Concerts this March
February 19, 2008I’m a big fan of Brandon Boyd. Thus when I learned that Incubus that Philippines is part of their Pacific Rim Tour ‘08, I know I just have to score some tickets. Unfortunately for my ever so poor wallet, Maroon 5 is also slated to have a concert this March 5. Hah!!! I would really really love to watch both concerts if only I have the time and money. However, Ticketnet and Araneta is asking me to sell my innards for me to be able to watch both concerts, the cheapest reserved seating for Maroon 5 is Php3938.00 and to be at the front would cost me Php10500.[Whatta??!!! just add some more and you’d have a dp for a semester in our school] for Incubus it’s Php1995 and Php4410 respectively. [hmm.. I wonder why Incubus’ concert is much cheaper?]
Argh! What to do, what to do. Do I still have time to win the lottery? What about ending? Is Jueteng still alive?
If not, like I said before tumatangap po ako ng labada.
Myths Vs. Facts
When You FALL IN LOVE
(Debunking the Myths That Are Driving You Crazy) By: Bo Sanchez
This article isn’t for teenagers only.
Falling in love happens to the young and the not-so-young. (Did you see 42-year-old Tom Cruise jump up and down Oprah’s couch because of Katie?)
I t happens to everyone. Fat, thin, tall, short, intelligent, uneducated, holy, not so holy, dark, white, yellow, green… it doesn’t really matter.
All of us fall in love.
And we get stuck in myths that drive us absolutely crazy.
My goal is to debunk these myths and convince you not to believe in them.
Let’s begin……. …
MYTH 1: LOVE WILL CONQUER ALL
Let me qualify.
This is such a tricky myth. Because love —– as defined by the Bible —— will conquer all. But love —— as defined by glazed-eyed lovers —– will not.
If you believe in this myth, you might do the following:
You overlook major obstacles in your relationship.
Everyone you know is wondering why you chose that creature from outer space as your boyfriend. Your bestfriends are telling you to get rid of him. Your family is telling you to throw him out of a running vehicle. Aling Rosa of the sari-sari store across the street is telling you to lace his drink with poison.
But you won’t ——— because you’re in love. That’s why there are songs entitled, "you and me against the world"
Your bestbuds comment, ‘but he’s been jobless for the past three years!"
And you say, "He’s free-spirited. He feels boxed in when he’s in the office. ‘(in other words, he’s undisciplined, lazy bum.)
Your officemates say, ‘He flirts with other women constantly!’ and you say, ‘No, he’s just friendly.’ (in other words, he’s a pervert)
Your cousins say, ‘He’s taking drugs, He’s got needle marks all over his arm. And you say, ‘No, he’s into cross stitching.’
You overstay in toxic relationships, believing that your love will change him.
The wedding doesn’t transform anyone.
Even if three Popes officiate the wedding.
The person you’ll march with into the church will be the same person you’ll march with out of the church. He doesn’t change one bit.
In fact, the marriage makes the hidden more obvious.
If he was selfish before he got married, he will be even more selfish after the wedding. If he was hypercritical before he got married, he’ll even be more vile and prolific with his criticisms after wedding.
Here’s the truth : You need more than feelings of love to make a relationship work. You need mature character, total commitment and a minimum level of compatibility.
Especially compatibility in the area of values and mission in life. I hear people say, ‘We’re compatible. Our names begin with the same letter J. My name is Julie and his name is Julio. We’re both born in July."
Wow. That’s so deep, I want to cry.
